Originally entitled Black and Bruised: The Mixtape For Suicidal Lovers, Public Transport is deep blue on the sound spectrum. Like the previous The Tape vs RQM efforts it remains a subtle genre bender. The compositions swim fluidly between acoustic and electronic, between Hip Hop, Neo-Folk, and the endless shades of Rock, while a universe of IDM stutters, clicks, glitches, and rewinds forms the space for the heartbroken confessions of the featured vocalists. Back on vocalduty alongside RQM are the familiar voices of Malte Beckenbach and Sasha Perera of Jahcoozi, but also new timbres, that of Elle P and Ira. The emotional depth and the honesty found on this record is a rare occurance in music these days.

The Tape vs RQM is Berlin’s producer prodigy Robot Koch (Jahcoozi, Autodrive, MMDC) and eclectic emcee – spoken word artist RQM (Al Haca, Stereotyp, I-Wolf). Ever since their debut LP Autoreverse dropped the duo have steadily been sabotaging genre based music. Their work is a fusion of acoustic and electronic soundscapes that loosely reference Rock, Hip Hop, IDM, Soul, Neo Folk and whatever else happens to spark them at the time.
To date The Tape shared stages with the likes of Stereo Mcs, The Rapture, El-P, Kool Keith, and Funkstörung. BBC1 had their songs on rotation, XLR8R magazine featured them in a 3 page long article, while Rolling Stone Germany gave them a top rating calling Autoreverse a sure shot.
